#3c Integration of the Monarchy with OT Books Part of the series on the Flow of OT History
The Books of Samuel and Kings cover Israel's period as a nation under a king. One way to remember the contents of these books is to “rename” them as follows:
Notes:
1 and 2 Chronicles cover the same period of Jewish history described in 2 Samuel through
2 Kings.
The Books of 1 and 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles provide the biblical context of the writing prophets leading up to the Babylonian exile.
Many (73) of the psalms were attributed to David. His experience as a shepherd, musician, warrior and king is reflected in these psalms.
Many of the proverbs in the Book of Proverbs, the Song of Solomon and Ecclesiastes were attributed to Solomon.
